Description

A flood-damaged basement can mean a second trip if you brought the wrong meter. The Protimeter MMS3 Moisture Meter puts 4 measurement methods in one handheld device. Pins and non-invasive radio frequency measure materials, and air humidity and infrared surface temperature add context. You can switch between methods on the spot, so a reading that looks off can be checked a different way before you leave the room.

 

If you work fire and flood restoration, you can map moisture across walls and subfloors. Concrete slab checks and home inspections use the same meter, with the probes your job calls for.

Key Features and Benefits of the Protimeter MMS3 Moisture Meter

  • Pin Moisture Range: Pin readings cover 6 to 100 percent wood moisture equivalent (WME), and anything above 30 percent shows as relative, so you can track wood from dry to soaked.
  • Non-Invasive Scanning: Radio-frequency mode reads on a relative scale of 60 to 999, so you can survey drywall and concrete without leaving pin holes.
  • 10,000-Record Logging: The meter logs up to 10,000 readings automatically, and viewer mode lets you check stored data on site.

Choose Your Package

Each of the 6 packages uses the same MMS3 meter, and they differ only in what comes with each one. The Basic Package is the quick-start option, with the heavy-duty moisture probe and the short Quikstick sensor. The Standard Kit adds a hard-sided carry case to the Basic Package contents.

For humidity-focused surveys, the Basic Survey Package builds on the Basic Package with the Hygrostick sensor. It adds a sensor extension lead and 5-inch wall probes. The Survey Kit includes all of that plus a surface temperature sensor and a hard-sided carrying case.

The Restoration Kit starts from the Standard Kit and adds a Heavy-Duty Hammer Electrode with 4 hammer pins. It also includes 5-inch wall probes. The Flooring Kit is made for invasive concrete slab testing. It includes 20 adjustable humidity sleeves, a carbide-tipped spiral masonry drill bit with stop, 5 mini Hygrostick probes with an insertion and extraction tool, the Hygrostick Extension Lead, a calibration kit, a data cable, and software, all in a hard-sided carrying case.

The package matters more than you might expect. If you take readings in high-humidity conditions, choose a package that includes the Hygrostick, because the Basic Package comes only with the Quikstick sensor. Bluetooth streaming and 10,000-record logging are the features that save you the most time, since every reading is already recorded when you sit down to write your moisture report.
